Why have a vision?  Well for one thing, it is in your DNA as a human being to have something to look forward –  but more importantly to have purpose and to be creative and to grow.  Here’s the thing though, your dreams and what is inside you to give birth to your best self and live your dreams is not just for you.  In some way, whether it is intentional or not, you will inspire people around you.  When you are happy and fulfilled and looking forward to something, when you have goals you work toward each day, your vibe, your enthusiasm and your joy will be infectious.  You will also help others.  Even better – you will feel amazing!

“Why do people need a vision for their life? People who have no vision for their lives are sleepwalking without a hint as to why they are here or what their purpose is.  They are drifting along on the currents of the culture’s conditioned collective beliefs without discerning for themselves whether those beliefs are harmful or beneficial, progressive or regressive.” – Michael Beckwith

To use your focus wheel, first decide where you would like to put it so you can see it morning, noon and night.  I love to put mine in my vision journal and then I fill out another one for my vision scrapbook.  Fill it in and hang it up where you can see it every day.

How to Fill In Your Focus Wheel – Follow YOUR INTUTION

You Can either pick just one goal to focus on at this time, or you can pick more.

To pick one goal, first write your goal in the center of the wheel.

Now ask yourself, what is it I would like to focus on?  Maybe you want to open your dream business or boost your confidence by losing weight or maybe you want to run a marathon.  Whatever it is, in each wheel segment, write in motivational quotes, or wonderful I AM statements in the present tense about achieving this dream.  Include compliments, or anything else you can think of that you know will motivate you to achieve this goal.  One fun way to IMAGINE what you would like to write onto your focus wheel is to close your eyes and FEEL what it feels like to be in the moment or in the space and place of your dream achieved!  Then write those incredible feelings on your focus wheel as well, ie:  The feeling I have on this warm summer day of accomplishing the race with everyone cheering me on feels absolutely exhilarating!  Or how about, “I feel the warm sun on my skin as I sit in my flower garden having breakfast at my beautiful home in Italy.”  Whatever it is, listen to your intuition, I am just giving you some suggestions!

In the past, I have filled out my focus wheel for areas of my life.  One segment could be the books I wrote, or the places I’ve travelled to, or creative pursuits that include sewing, or family, finances and friendship.  I then wrote vision for each area of my life in each segment so I could read it every day and stay focused on the top things I want in my life and not get distracted.
