“First of all, have you stopped to think about how remarkable you are? You play an irreplaceable role to many people in your life and an invaluable role to the fire department. However, as the partner to a firefighter, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, out of the loop, or that your dreams have taken the slow track because your partner’s profession can sometimes feel consuming.
However, your reality and what you go through, needs to be acknowledged and valued.
We bring peace and balance to our lives when we keep the big picture in mind and practice the law of order. We bring further poise to our day to day when we honor our feelings and then find healthy ways to discharge negative ones (therapy work, writing in a journal, talking things through with your firefighter, with trusted family or friend).
Today and from here on in, I’d like you to take some time to remind yourself of your own strength and courage and what you’ve made it through to come out even better than you were before. Make a list of at least 10 things that you’ve done that makes you feel good about who you are.
Include your accomplishments, endeavors, travels, brave acts, and personality traits people love in you and that you love about yourself.
It’s helpful to make a list as a reminder sometimes to perk us up and to help us see the forest through the trees on those days you feel like you could use some positive words. Alright gorgeous, write out some amazing things about you and carry on even further if you feel like it!!! Let’s boost your heart and your soul up with some positive thinking and bolster your amour propre (which is self love and self worth in French)!
Make Your Personal/Positive List. It’s all about you baby!
